The world premiere of the 2021 Genesis G80 took place online due to the global epidemic.

Since its launch for the first time in 2015, Genesis has expanded its presence in the mid-size luxury car market to include its own home in South Korea, as well as Canada, Russia, the USA, Australia and the Middle East.

On the side, the parabolic line that starts at the front quad headlights and extends from the top of the door to the rear is balanced by athletic lines that emphasize the strengthening of the fender volume and 20-inch wheels. Starting behind the front wheels, the chrome-plated stretches at the bottom of the door, passes the side sills and swells upward, this strengthens the visual movement.

At the rear, a sloping decklid, rear Quad lights, large chrome decor repeating the theme of the Genesis emblem at the top of the body, and dual exhaust trims add to the sporty look.

Inside, the thin air vents running along the passenger compartment divide the panoramic area above and the control area below. The number of hard buttons and switches is kept to a minimum to increase both aesthetic appearance and ease of use.

The four-spoke leather steering wheel, head-up display screen, 12.3-inch cluster with glasses-free 3D technology and 14.5-inch infotainment system, Genesis integrated controller for HVAC controls, a rotating electronic gear dial, a touch-and-touch infotainment system and soft-touch fabrics and coverings are also notable. The infotainment system also supports OTA update, Android Auto and Apple Car Play.

The head and legroom, which was increased by reducing the sitting height of the second row, also allowed a lower roofline.

2021 Genesis G80's platform features a wider cabin and a design that lowers the body and center of gravity to provide improved ride stability. Also ,aluminum is used for about 19 percent of the 2021 G80's body, reducing weight by 125 kg (275 lbs) compared to the previous one, thereby improving fuel efficiency and performance.

The 2021 Genesis G80 has a body 5mm longer (4995mm), 36mm wider (1925mm) and 15mm lower (1465mm) than its predecessor. The 3010 mm wheelbase of the previous model has been transferred to the new G80.

The third generation Genesis G80 comes with three engine options. The first is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline unit that produces 304 PS and 420 Nm of torque, the second is a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 unit that produces 380 PS of power and 530 Nm of torque. In addition, the 2.2 liter four-cylinder diesel option, which produces 210 PS and 440 Nm of torque, will also be offered to customers. The four-wheel drive option will also be offered in the luxury sedan, which has a rear-wheel drive structure as standard.

Performance does not mean acceleration for everyone, acoustic glass is used for the windscreen and all doors. The new G80 features improved door sealing and new engine compartment sound insulation to achieve interior silence and low noise levels. The Electronically Controlled Suspension with Road Preview reduces the impact of roads and improves ride quality by using the information provided from the front camera.

G80 is equipped with advanced driving assistance systems.

Highway Driving Assist II: This system assists the driver in a variety of situations than before, including lane change maneuvers when the turn signal is used and others unite in front of you.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist: This system can help stop the G80 automatically in some situations where there is a risk of collision with an approaching vehicle detected on the left or right of the junction. The G80 can also help detect potential collision risks in some cases when a pedestrian near the vehicle is detected while on the move.

Smart Cruise Control with Machine Learning: SCC-ML, a world first, includes artificial intelligence (AI) within the Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) feature that helps the vehicle to learn and assist the driver's driving characteristics independently.

Pre active Safety Seat: To keep the passenger safe in the event of a collision, sudden braking or turning, pulls the seat forward to bring the passenger seat to a safe position.

The 2021 Genesis G80 was launched in South Korea recently. It will take the second half of the year to enter the US market.
