Kia previewed the global facelifted Optima with the new 2019 K5 sedan

The new K5 sedan, which is expected to be updated at the end of this year, is introduced in South Korea as a preview of 2019 Kia Optima.

Possible design modifications to 2019 Optima include a new nose grille, LED DRL headlights, a new front bumper with integrated LED lighting, updated taillights and a new rear diffuser. New alloy wheels are also taking place among exterior changes.

More modest changes in the interior of the K5 are waiting for us.

As expected, there are the brand's latest infotainment systems, redesigned steering wheel, 'K5' logo projected from under the front door, new leather upholstery options and a few trim updates.

The 2019 Kia K5 is offered in South Korea with four engine options, two of which are gasoline. The 1.6-liter turbo engine produces 180PS and 195lb-ft (265Nm) of torque. 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline unit has a torque rating of 163PS and 145lb-ft (196Nm). On the diesel side, 1.7-liter turbodiesel rated at 141PS and 251lb-ft (340Nm) of torque. 2.0-liter variant offers 151PS and 143lb-ft (194Nm) of torque. In addition to these options, there is also a model with LPG.

2019 Kia Optima is expected to protect existing engine options in the United States. Current power units range from 178hp to 245hp.
